Frequently
Asked
Questions

Why should I choose Mama Pacha Designs?

Ordering from us means you're supporting a small business and an artist who is passionate about what she does and deeply cares about the quality and beauty of everything she makes.

If you're looking for a modern, minimalistic, unique piece of artwork using flowers with a social conscious, you’re in the right place. We are constantly working on fresh and innovative designs to delight and inspire you.

Why should I place a Bespoke Order with Mama Pacha Designs?

By placing a bespoke order with Mama Pacha Designs, you will receive a truly bespoke, tailored service including a one-to-one telephone consultation to ensure your design vision is perfectly understood. You are paying for the time, skill, and love it takes to create your project.

What should I expect when placing a Bespoke Order with Mama Pacha Designs?

When you place a bespoke order with Mama Pacha Design, she will ask for a detailed description of your requirements to be sent by email in the first instance. Once your bespoke order has been accepted she will send a questionnaire for your completion and arrange a telephone appointment with you.

During the personal consultation she will go through your requirements using the details you have provided on the initial email and completed questionnaire and listen to any other queries you may have. The consultation time will vary depending on the complexity of your requirements up to a maximum of 1 hour. Final details will be agreed either in the one-to-one call or on a scheduled follow call.

Once final details have been agreed there can be no variations of the design except those denoted by Mama Pacha Designs due to stock/production limitations and anything else outside of our control.

How Do You Preserve Your Flowers?

The majority of flowers are air dried or pressed to keep their natural shape and colour. For flowers which aren’t suited to this method we use re-useable silica gel.

We will always try our best to preserve the flowers to the best possible condition however sometimes this isn’t always possible. Some flowers react unpredictably in resin and some flowers simply aren’t suited to being dried or cast by any method, we reserve the right to refuse or discard these flowers.

How long will my dried flowers/resin art last?

Dried flowers are delicate in their very nature, bits such as petals or leaves will fall from the stems over time, it is important to treat them with care. A care card will be included with every order, please take the time to read through the advice given to ensure your art piece stays in the best possible condition.

If you treat the flowers and resin art carefully, it should last for a very long time, however natural fading will eventually occur over time and is considered normal.

It is essential to display your flowers out of the direct sunlight and to avoid moisture as much as possible.

Epoxy resin is a strong and durable material that will essentially last “forever”. Even though I use specialist UV resistant resin, it is still sensitive to sunlight and high temperatures and will gradually amber/yellow over time. This is a part of the natural aging process of resin. Keeping it away from sunlight and heat will slow down this process. Ambering is to be expected and cannot be prevented or fixed.

What power source do I need for my LED light base?

Our LED light bases come with a USB power cord. To power them, simply use a USB adapter plug, like the one you use to charge your mobile phone. Alternatively, you can connect the base to an external power bank, available at most electronic retailers or online marketplaces. We recommend a power bank with a minimum capacity of 10,000mAh for optimal performance. This option provides greater flexibility in positioning your resin art piece.

What if there is a problem with my LED light base?

We test each LED light base prior to despatching your order to ensure that it is in fully working order however as we do not manufacture these items ourselves we cannot accept responsibility for their continued performance.

If your LED light base is faulty upon receipt please email contactme@mamapachauk.com immediately and we can offer some troubleshooting advice.

What packaging do you use?

All orders are delivered in sustainable and recyclable packaging wherever possible. I use brown honeycomb paper packaging and newspaper to protect items, recyclable paper tape, cardboard boxes and recyclable brown paper. Sometimes a very small piece of bubble wrap is used for extra protection around resin art to ensure these aren’t broken in transit.

How long before I receive my order?

Please see Ordering & Delivery section of the Terms & Conditions.

Can I cancel my order and do you accept returns?

Please see Returns and Cancellations section of the Terms & Conditions.

A little about our products

Please note due to the nature of the products each one is handmade and will vary slightly for the photographs our website.

FLOWERS

Flowers are fickle things, and availability will largely depend on the growing season. We're typical able to provide flowers from mid-May to September. The weather is key to a good growing season and as we have all experience these past few years, nothing can be guaranteed. Cold, wet starts to the year followed by drought conditions and winds that blast through the country, all wreak havoc on home grown flowers. This has a large effect the availability of fresh flowers and subsequently, our dried flowers.

DRIED FLOWERS

Our dried flowers are natural products, so variations are expected. We do not dye or bleach our flowers, which means they differ in appearance from fresh flowers and may not be as vibrant as those from suppliers who use colour-enhancing treatments. We believe in enjoying flowers in their natural form.

We will where necessary, substitute certain stems in keeping with the overall colours and style.

Colours and shapes can vary as they are all natural products.

FRESH FLOWERS

Jam Jar flowers will contain seasonal blooms from our own garden or local, responsibly foraged blooms and foliage. We can only offer Jam Jar flowers between Mid-May to September each year due to the seasonality of our cut flowers. Please contact us if you wish to order outside of this timeframe and we may be able to help however this is dependent on the availability of flowers.

Bespoke bouquets will be a mix of our own flowers, foraged blooms and those sourced from a local cut flower farmer. Should you wish to choose specific blooms which are not available from any of these sources, we will consider using a wholesaler however this is not our preferred source as many of these blooms will carry a larger environmental impact.

RESIN ART

To create our resin art, we work with epoxy resin in liquid form which then cures (or hardens) into a solid piece. Resin cures rock-hard and has a similar finish and appearance to glass with the feel of acrylic.

We use our homegrown flowers, glitter, mica powder and alcohol inks in our resin art pieces and we hope to offer a bespoke wedding flower preservation service soon. Sign up to our newsletter and be the first to know when this launches!

Treat your resin art like a piece of glass —avoid scratching or dropping it. Please be very careful with your resin art, some pieces may have sharp edges and should be kept out of reach of children and pets. Mama Pacha Designs cannot be held responsible for injuries caused by the resin pieces. We recommend wearing gloves when cleaning the resin pieces to avoid injury and to keep the surface clear of any fingerprints.
